Children of the Drug Trade: a case study of children in organised armed violence in Rio de Janeiro

The research stimulated an international debate on the similarities that exist between child soldiers and youth involved in drug trade conflict in Rio de Janeiro. Including extensive interviews and surprising data - such as the fact that more children die in the drug war in Rio than in Israel/Palestine - the study coined the use of the term 'Children in Organised Armed Violence' and inspired international research culminating in the book "Neither war, nor peace."
